This is the reason most people find Bir Billing in the first place. Billing's take-off point sits at roughly 2,400m; the Chougan landing field, about 1,400m below, is a five-minute walk from our door. Standard tandem flights run 15 to 20 minutes — ask for a long or high-fly package and you're up for 25 to 35. Longer cross-country flights exist for the more adventurous, flown in groups with GPS tracking as standard. Monsoon (mid-July to mid-September) grounds everyone; flying resumes once the skies clear in October.
Fly safe
Fly only with Himachal Pradesh-registered pilots wearing a visible ID card — never a roadside tout. Local authorities have tightened safety rules after past accidents, and a licensed pilot is the difference that actually matters. Bir–Barot Trek via Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary

A longer route through cedar and pine forest into the Nargu sanctuary — home to monal pheasants, black bear and ghoral — ending at the trout-farming village of Barot on the Uhl river.

Good to know before you go
Best season
October–November and March–June bring the clearest skies and the fullest calendar. Monsoon (mid-July–mid-September) closes paragliding and some trails; deep winter (Dec–Mar) closes the Rajgundha route.
Getting around
We keep a mountain bike on hand for guests — complimentary, first-come, first-served. Renting one in the village runs ₹200/hour or ₹300–600/day.
