Himalayan Nest
Himalayan Nest
Our story
More than accommodation — a peaceful mountain home.
Himalayan Nest was born from a simple idea — that the mountains have a way of slowing us down, and that everyone deserves a warm, honest place to feel that.
Tucked into the green folds of Bir Billing, in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district, our home opens onto sweeping views of the Dhauladhar range. Days here are unhurried — mornings with mountain air and fresh coffee, afternoons of remote work by a sunlit window, evenings of chess, board games and conversations with travelers from around the world.
We're an eco-friendly homestay at heart. Solar power, solar-heated water and fresh natural spring water are part of everyday life here — small choices that let us live gently on the mountain while keeping you comfortable.
We're also just minutes from Bir's famous paragliding landing site — walk out the door, fly over the Dhauladhar range, and be back for lunch.
For exploring at your own pace, we keep a mountain bike on hand for guests — complimentary, first-come, first-served. Renting one in the village runs ₹200/hour or ₹300–600/day; here, it's simply part of the stay.
Whether you're a solo backpacker, a couple chasing quiet, a family on holiday, a digital nomad or a paragliding pilot — you'll find a bed that feels like home and a welcome that feels like family. This is authentic Himalayan hospitality. Stay. Relax. Explore.

Who you'll meet
Himalayan Nest is run by Suresh and Kusum, a husband-and-wife team — they're the two faces behind every check-in, every meal from the common kitchen, and every bit of local advice on where to fly, walk or eat. Guests often mention Suresh by name in their reviews, and more than a few say they'll be back to see him again. This is a family home first, and a homestay because of it.
Responsible Tourism
Himalayan Nest is built around a simple promise — to give you comfort while protecting the valley we call home. Here's how we keep our footprint small.
Electricity drawn from the sun wherever possible, keeping our footprint light on the mountain.
Warm showers heated by Himalayan sunlight — comfort without the carbon.
Mindful consumption, minimal waste, and quiet respect for the land that hosts us.
Fresh natural spring water on tap, so no single-use bottles pile up in the valley.

Solar powered
Rooftop solar panels and a solar water heater do the quiet work — real electricity and real hot water, drawn from Himalayan sunlight instead of the grid.
